Here are two panels from Sonic issue 166. On the left, we see my original pencils, where Sonic is bawling over the loss of his children in the future. And on the right is the toned down version for the final product.

ooh....interesting...always thought panels were hardly changed before the final product...would've been slightly more realistic if he was that emotional after losing his family in a future he was only familiar with....then again, this is Sonic, he's been through a lot before
I have to admit I prefer the original displays of emotion, but the end result is still faboo.

This sandwich is made of Quantum and Physics. It is neither here nor there.
I love all of these!

Yr of the Ram- Often shy, and puzzled about life. They are always passionate about what they do and what they believe in. They’re creative, artistic, passionate, elegant, warmhearted, honest, charming, timid, disorganized and vulnerable.
I actually like the second finished versian a wee more, although I havn't been reading lately.

Did you get to re-draw your own panels , or were they drawn over for you?

In memory of Ben Feld.

A true friend who will alaways be missed.
The left side shows him in utter agony, whereas the right just shows shock, confusion, and pain. He doesn't have the nearly shattered look in the right side. Admittably, I prefer the left.

Yeah, I re-drew them.

Tracy!
agreed. I have a sneaking suspicion Sega had something to do with that.
You know, I'd have to say I much prefer the more intense display of emotion in your original panels. It's his CHILDREN for pete's sake, he should be emotionally destroyed, not mildly shocked... :/ I'm willing to bet you had to tone it down because of more than a few coporate high-ups not willing to destroy his "image". Down with that I say.
Right on sister!

This is just a test.
